Caste performance my opinion
The performances by the cast in The Rip is definitely one of the strongest points of the movie. The movie reunites Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and their chemistry on screen is undeniable, which makes the movie feel all the more realistic. Matt Damon is someone who is perfectly suited to play serious roles, and I have always thought that he is best when he is cast as someone who is calm and intense, with controlled emotions. In this movie, it is perfectly matched with the crime thriller genre, and Ben Affleck is equally good, portraying his character as someone who is slightly tough and experienced.

The story of The Rip starts with what appears to be an ordinary narcotics raid in Miami. A small police unit enters the house, which is related to drug activity. Doors open, rooms are searched, police officers doing their usual job. Nothing special at first. And then, suddenly, something strange appears: hidden stacks of money. Not a small sum, but millions of dollars, quietly waiting inside the house.
And that’s the point where everything changes.Nobody anticipated this. Police officers anticipated finding drugs, maybe some weapons, but money like that? For a brief moment, everything is unclear. What to do with that money? Should they immediately report it? Should they leave the money and proceed with the investigation? Such questions begin to appear in the room, even if nobody formulates them explicitly.
The police officers, led by the characters played by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, find themselves in an extremely uncomfortable position. Trust inside the group begins to crumble. Some officers remain calm, others become uneasy. Small doubts grow into larger suspicions.
I must say that I enjoy stories based on such tension. Not loud, explosive scenes, but people making tough choices under the pressure of the situation. And that’s the main idea of The Rip. Money is no longer just evidence. It’s a test of loyalty, sincerity, and control.
Sometimes, the main danger in the crime story is not the criminals outside, but the temptation inside the room.

The Rip Movie Ending explain
The last part of The Rip gets pretty intense, and honestly, it’s where the whole puzzle finally comes together.
In the final scenes, someone sets the stash house on fire. The movie never clearly shows who did it, but from the clues we already know — it’s Mike trying to destroy evidence i think. After that, DEA agent Matty arrives because J.D. secretly called him earlier. Soon J.D., Dane, Mike, and Matty leave together in an armored truck carrying the money bags, while the others stay behind.
Inside the truck, the conversation slowly reveals the truth. Dane was never trying to steal the money. In fact, Dane and J.D. were working together, trying to prove that Mike was the mule and to find out who his partner was.
At one point Mike asks J.D. for his burner phone. J.D. had secretly taken it earlier during J.D and dane fight. When Mike redials the last number, the truth becomes clear — Matty is his partner. Realizing he’s exposed, Matty suddenly tries to kill Mike but only wounds him.
Chaos breaks out inside the truck. J.D. shoots the driver, while Matty manages to overpower Dane and hold both of them at gunpoint. Then another driver appears, showing there are more people involved behind the scenes.
Soon Del, J.D.’s brother from the FBI, calls and tells everyone to surrender (not to J.D and dane).
Nobody does. Mike escapes with a bag of money, Matty drives off in the armored truck, and the group splits.
Dane chases Mike while J.D. goes after Matty. After a long pursuit, Dane finally overpowers Mike. Mike realize his mistakes, and Dane arrests him. Meanwhile J.D. crashes Matty’s armored truck off a bridge. After the crash, Matty tries to shoot again — but J.D. shoots him first, ending it.
Then comes the twist. The money bag Matty and Mike was trying to steal has no money at all — only books. The real cash was secretly taken by Numa, Lola, and Lopez, who later turn it over to the authorities. Because Lopez helped the investigation, the FBI gives her 20% of the recovered money — about $4 million.
In the final scene, J.D. and Dane sit quietly on a beach with a beer, remembering the people they lost along the way. The case is finally over. Not a loud ending — just two men finally breathing again after everything that happened
My Review on this Film My opinion
Honestly, The Rip surprised me a little. At first I expected a normal crime thriller — cops, raids, the usual stuff. But the story slowly becomes more about trust and betrayal inside the team. That part really works. Matt Damon, in my opinion, is always best in serious roles, and here he carries that quiet intensity again. Ben Affleck also gives a solid performance. The tension builds gradually rather than relying only on action. I liked that approach. It’s not a perfect movie, maybe a bit slow in places, but the final twist and the ending scene on the beach stayed with me. A good watch overall.
